KHINKHWAB - GILDED DREAMS
Khinkhwab or Kimkhwab in Persian literally translates into ‘a golden dream’. An opulent work of art, it features heavy gold and silver zari twilled in silk threads making the underlying cloth almost invisible. With a heavy Persian influence seen in the motifs, it gained immense popularity during the Mughal period and was used mostly for ceremonial purposes. The Khinkhwab is perhaps the most decadent and royal of weaves.
